The QYT KT-8900 mobile radio is the big brother to the Baofeng UV-5R. This unit boasts a modest 20-25 watt transmit output and is packed with features, including all the features from the Baofeng UV-5R as well as other radio options specific to this unit. This radio utilizes an external antenna and a 12v power source via cigarette lighter connection. The QYT KT-8900 is a great radio for use in vehicles, or as a base radio. It can also be used for a "doomsday" style repeater if you utilize two or more of these units together.
